"But, but Verdie, isn't Davi supposed to be a panther?" Yes, yes he was. Things change.
For a long time I've been sitting on Davi's design, trying to get some kind of idea as to who he is and what role he plays in the Chronicles universe. After seeing this adopt things have started to click together.
Once thinking himself a slave of the Thing Under the Stars, Davinius has given himself totally to his own pleasure. His will is shackled to an addiction to dominance and pain; his life has been twisted into a sadistic mockery of the noble one he once led.
Davi accepted, meeting another young fox named Silus Anatolius. Both had heard the Void Dragon in their dreams and answered the call to war: here their paths converged for the worse. Groomed for greatness from a young age, Silus was the model knight. Chivalrous, loving, an expert in the sword and lance, and excelling in classical education. By contrast, Davinius couldn't keep his claws off forbidden tomes or injuring his squadmates during sparring. Jealousy and greed tainted Davinius’ heart over the years they trained together. Eventually the two would be transferred to a planet known as Deltasias II for psychological training. Here, a massive psychic field of lust and envy permeated the very soil of the planet and had driven the original colonists mad. So too, did it drive Davinius mad; Silus caught him in bed with male prostitutes and drove him from the Order. Davi attacked a knightly armory and stole a swarm of mechanites that allow him to change his form at will, though he seems to have settled on his wickerbeast form.
Davi’s trademark technique is the ethereal chains seen on his body. These chains are a manifestation of his love of violence and pain. They can extend to almost a quarter mile long or retract to hide under clothing, snake about with perfect precision, are invisible to those without psionic talent, and can heat up enough to boil water or cool down enough to freeze it.

Summary
Davinius Vulcaros is a former Knight of the Void Dragon who betrayed his nation, his friends, and even his own flesh to escape the rigid confines of Nevadari society. Hunted by his old comrade and best friend Silus Anatolius, Davi creates a series of pleasure cults and criminal enterprises to slow down his pursuers.Once thinking himself a slave of the Thing Under the Stars, Davinius has given himself totally to his own pleasure. His will is shackled to an addiction to dominance and pain; his life has been twisted into a sadistic mockery of the noble one he once led.
History
Davinius Vulcaros was born a fox in the Nevadari Star Kingdom, a feudal space-faring empire that spans the northern half of the galaxy. The Vulcaros dynasty is a Minor Dynasty, meaning that unlike Silus, Davinius grew up an employee in some other Ascendant Dynasty’s operation rather than inheriting the operation himself. Seeking an escape from the humiliation of not having it all, he turned inward; in his dreams the Thing Under the Stars whispered to him and told him of a way to become greater. Knighthood, to give himself totally to It and become a warrior of faith and honor.Davi accepted, meeting another young fox named Silus Anatolius. Both had heard the Void Dragon in their dreams and answered the call to war: here their paths converged for the worse. Groomed for greatness from a young age, Silus was the model knight. Chivalrous, loving, an expert in the sword and lance, and excelling in classical education. Powerset
Davinius is a monster in close combat, having mastered psionic techniques to enhance his strength and reflexes tenfold above that of a normal man. He can also breathe fire from his mouth, though it has limited charges. He uses the last breaths of his victims’ sane minds to power the ability instead of his faith in the Void Dragon. Davi knows a lot of methods of mind control and telepathic attack, though he relies more on overwhelming force to drive a victim to lust-induced insanity than technique or efficiency.Davi’s trademark technique is the ethereal chains seen on his body. These chains are a manifestation of his love of violence and pain. They can extend to almost a quarter mile long or retract to hide under clothing, snake about with perfect precision, are invisible to those without psionic talent, and can heat up enough to boil water or cool down enough to freeze it.
Motivation
Davi is a coward at heart who seeks to dominate the people he sees as lesser. His own feelings of inadequacy as a child have manifested into a predatory desire for dominance, power, and control to an almost cartoonish degree of villainy. Davi needs to prove how good he is, that he is right in his reduced state; yet every time Silus attempts to confront him and bring him to justice Davi flees into the dark. Davi especially takes a sick pleasure in breaking Mundanes, people without psionic abilities.Category Artwork (Digital) / All
