Kion, Simba, and Mufasa are actually evil and intentionally distorting the perspectives of the story. Kion is stereotyping animals, especially jackals, hyenas and binturongs. Jasiri is a traitor, all the “good” hyenas are traitors. The lions before Mufasa kicked the hyenas out of the savannah out of hate, calling them stupid, ugly, hermaphrodites, and put them in the elephant graveyard, where there was no protein left, the meat was eaten by maggots before they could eat it, only bones left, they ate the bones, they got their calcium, but they couldn’t get their protein. Forward to the Lion Guard, whenever hyenas try to hunt they are roared out of the pride lands, never getting their protein meanwhile the carnivores in the pride lands are allowed to hunt. This would imply hyena cubs are starving to death. Spotted, striped, and brown hyenas are forced to eat insects, not enough protein for them and not part of their diet. While aardwolves are the “good” guys. Not very “Circle of Life” now is it? It doesn’t make much sense that they made the binturong evil. Unlike hyenas and jackals, I’ve never heard anything bad animal stereotypes about binturongs.
