Elderly loneliness is a massive problem and this little bit of monologue, though probably not intended as such, gives a nice little bit of awareness to that problem.

Hah, putting the same distress marks on both the front and back of the mug? Dude, it's wonderful you even think about that sort of thing. There's another comic creator here that has very little care for visual continuity, even if it was a glaring mistake, so it's refreshing to see someone care about quality.
