The cannibal, serial killer, radio deer of death. Considering what Alastor did during his mortal life, I would not blame anyone who said they are afraid of him. Finn can just see him for what he really is underneath.

As others have already pointed out in this section, Alastor is already somewhat terrifying even though he pretends to be friendly from time to time, like here for example, so I think Finn has the right to feel scared just by being in front of him.

Pretty sure Alastor's fully aware of how he appears to this dude.

I worry that Alastor will figure out the guy is seeing their true forms. Because he would absolutely take advantage of that for his own amusement. Not sure there's anything Alastor won't do to amuse himself, not unless it violates his own personal code of conduct.

I remember reading somewhere that Alastor was killed by police dogs (specifically, the kind bred to hunt deer, bloodhounds, I believe) and Hell in this universe makes your "demon" form match how you died or be an "ironic" transformation.

yeah but you can also do that and have designs that look good, like I feel like I could come up with some pretty creative shit if you asked me to design characters in hell based on their deaths. Could have him covered in bite marks with bits of flesh hanging off him. Could have him wearing a muzzle, which would work well to explain the dumb garbled voice kinda and have it make sense in some way i guess
but even still that doesn't make sense because I'm pretty sure the characters look exactly like they did when they were alive, I'm fairly certain there was a flashback to the pink thing's life and he still looked exactly the same. At no point does he look anything like a spider though, which always made me question why he was designed to be a spider. Perhaps he was an arachnologist and now he's forced to spend eternity as possibly the most anatomically incorrect spider ever created, I know that would torture me

I think Vivzie said Angel Dust and his family are all gangsters, so they turn into spider demons in hell because they're in a "Web of crime"

I saw that comic, I think it's a sort of...pre-sequel to the Hazbin pilot; so everyone looking like a monster is just their demon forms and he's laying low making money for his boss while looking for a way "out of the game" and encounters Charlie who then makes her spiel.
