Oh, some good news! Those little generic humanoid figures who've got themselves shrunk and transformed have caught someone's eye! 
macropus is a kind-hearted fairy good enough to let me use her here, and maybe find some resolution that helps these little figures out.
I tried going, not lineless, but using lines that matched the primary color of the figure contained inside. I didn't quite get the effect I wanted, although it looks better in thumbnail than I think it does in full. I think I need to use outline colors that are a bit darker than the fill colors; that might get what I need better.
