Maria hissed as she clawed frantically at the ground trying to get back up as Shadow held onto her tightly. Shadow stood up with her and started on the trip to bring her back to the cabin. Though he was stronger than her it was like trying to hold onto a frenzied wild animal. Clawing and biting at him in an attempt to break free, but Shadow was determined to get her back to the safety of the cabin before dawn came.
She nearly got away a few times but he caught hold of her again. Sometimes just by the edge of her cloak.
Hours later as light started to trickle into the cabin, Maria stirred and slowly opened her eyes. Blinking a bit as woke up in a daze.
