Probably a dumb question, but how does she prevent that shark tooth from affecting anything other than herself? It wouldn't be good for it to malfunction in this situation.

she does have to be careful if that shark tooth does fall in the wrong hands. So far, no-one can wield its powers apart from her... but that might change.
