Two friends meet one evening on a night of celebration, one for the time of their birthday, the other for the belated celebration of theirs a few months back. Looking an adventurous evening, they go out on the town, walking about and looking for somewhere nice to hang out, maybe get a bit to eat or drink something.
After an hour or so, they find a quiet little bar hidden off a main road from downtown, yet far from being a sketchy place. Indeed, the seats are nice, the bar is clean, and the music is full of popular hits. The two sit down and look at their options, and while not regular drinkers, one option intrigues them; “Personal ReMix”, a drink sampler said to bring out “your true beverage, shape and form.”
The two take their shots, gulp them down, and are elated at what they taste. The older friend finds his drink tastes vaguely like a root beer; sweet and thin, goes down soft, but with an edge of an offbeat, aged orange and a dash of wine. The other finds his beverage loud and a little rough, almost like whiskey, yet with a unique mix of berry sweetness and peppery spice. Both are delighted and ask the bartender for more, and he tells them to wait a bit.
As they wait, the two friends start to feel a little dazed. Though they’ve had far too little to be under the influence, somehow their minds are buzzed with sensations of bliss and relaxation, soothed as if they were already home resting after their long night out. So stricken, they hardly notice at first how glassy their skin feels, a stiffness as their arms fall to their sides, sticking and starting to meld to their skin. They can’t help but smile as their lips grow fuller, yet flatter, chests beginning to expand (one moreso than the other), skin and clothes blending as singular color tones take over. From within they begin feeling fuller, the taste of their personalized drinks engulfing them as their forms shift and stretch and swell. Despite it all, it feels remarkably wonderous, smiling as the bar grows larger, their faces otherwise diminish, the top of their heads reforming and looking like caps, labels forming from what had been their shirts.
Within minutes, where the two friends had sat were now two striking looking bottles, full to the brim with their delicious liquid summarizations, a mix of sleek glass and alluring figure. Despite looking like common objects, they felt alive as ever, even able to still twitch and wiggle, but in bliss from the feelings of their new nature. In short order they were brought behind the bar and added to the shelf of wares, where they could shine and stand proudly, and offer their contents to patrons who wanted an exact taste of what made them themselves.
There the two friends could stand immortalized. Perhaps for a day, perhaps a week, perhaps forever. Perhaps they could return to humanity, but could retain the drinks within them, embrace their form at their own leisure. Or perhaps they could remain their bottled selves, experience life as drinks with other such animate beverages when the establishment is closed. Perhaps they could be perpetually full, able to replenish and never run out of their liquids for those looking to sample them. Or perhaps they would be the start of a product, being duplicated and distributed across the world for others to enjoy. There are many outcomes to this tale, but perhaps the moment is best captured at the night’s end, with the friends together in capped delight.

Inspired by the works of Krasney, I drew this piece up in a mild rush as a birthday treat for Metroid711, a longtime partner in oddity crime of mine. Normally our ideas rarely go beyond text and narrative, but on occasion I'm inclined to draw out a visual, and even more rarely try to give it color and polish (which with my current skillset take a fair bit of tedium, and still leaves some glitches if you look closely.) The idea of bottle forms is one of said ideas, thanks to the aforementioned inspiration, and after floating around for months I decided to take the dive for this occasion to give it the full luxury treatment I could muster.
Certainly a display of the more mature side of my intrigues around here, and it was just as fun for me to craft/make as it was for my friend to enjoy. This may not be the last, as I have a few more finished-ish grade pieces I can share, but given the timeframe between this and my last upload, don't expect anything in a timely manner.
As for Mr. Metroid, hope you're still having a good one, bud.
