I don't think "doesn't get along" cuts it. :p
More like it's an abusive relationship where Primordus desperately wants to harm Jormag as much as possible, even going after villagea of non-combatant farmers so he can force Jormag to watch over their mind-link as they're boiled alive, screaming like a crawdad. In contrast, Rox in LWS3 said Jormag's ice coccoons were like having a nap with faint dreaming, and no harm came to her. That's why Jormag used it at Doric. If I were a Doric citizen? Better that than being boiled alive. I always admired how cleverly Jormag put an end to the charr war too, since humiliating a warlord means no one is eager to step into that power vacuum and experience the same.
Between that and trying to fight off void corruption? Being accused of mind-control when their dragonmarked clearly weren't (mind-controlled minions don't soak in hot springs)? And putting foes intent on murdering them amd their kids to sleep in the snow (factually the least painful way to pass)? And having to watch their kids get murdered while trapped and unable to do anything? Jormag was such a tragic character whom I felt so much for.
They begged for help with the abuse, only to be gaslit (Aurene knew what Jormag's ice does from Rox), mocked, and ignored with disdain. Until Jormag had no hope left... And then seeing them having lost all hope, committing suicide to bring down Primordus? That fucked me up a lot as an abuse and suicide survivor who knows how the just-eorld fallacy results in neurotypicals calling abuse victims manipulators.
This was followed by a festival celebrating Jormag's suicide.
Honestly, just thinking about the fights with Jormag's kids messes me up. Jormag tells you that Drakkar is a baby nd they look like it! They teethe on Jhavi's shield and play with it like a puppy. In Claw's case? He clearly doesn't want to fight the army of home invaders who just melted his door, he's scared, but he doesn't want the monsters to kill his mom, either. He starts off biding behind an ice pillar, quaking, terrified. Then once his safety pillar is destroyed, he takes to the air, flinging shots at the invaders. Shot out of the sky, he has a panic attack! Dry heaving, staring into the middle distance, and weakly flailing. But that's not good enough, both of Jormag's kids must be butchered.
I've never seen anything quite so evil.
Suffice it to say... I no longer play GW2. That whole story was so messed up.
