It was turkey day at the wolf and wah's house and guess who roasted the bird? >"^_^"< The past few years I've been getting better and better at roasting turkey and this year it came out even better. I left it to brine it for three days in apple cider, with a mixture of sea salt, thyme, sage, rosemary, black peppercorns, sugar and other spices, along with dried apple, orange and lemon slices. It came out so juicy and perfectly seasoned. It was stuffed with a my own version of my grandmother's bread stuffing. Saute'd ground Italian sausage with apples, onions and celery. Add to that the roasted sweet potatoes with balsamic onions, my signature garlic mashed potatoes, and a vegetable medley. For dessert my wuff made a nice pumpkin pie and I made a dual crust cherry pie. It had a graham cracker bottom crust and a regular flaky top crust. I used one can of the awesome 'Green Leaf' brand of cherry pie filling AND a jar of natural preserved cherries. They are basically pitted and pickled raw cherries, but in water and raw sugar solution. As close to fresh you can get this time of year. It worked so well with the regular canned filling. Anyways, this was Turkey Day at our house.

Everything sounds so good. I do all the cooking at my moms house on Thanksgiving. This year we had 14 ppl over, I was cooking all day and loved every minute of it. Thanksgiving is my fav holiday because all you do is sit around an eat. It's to bad black friday has gotten so stupid. It ruins thanksgiving for so many people...
