Not really?
My battery died in my dive computer once. I was 80 feet under but I had JUST gotten to depth so I wasn't worried about running out of air. Had to call the dive though...
So now I have a redundant "brass and glass" backup gauge just in case! I'm starting to get into technical diving, so that's a MUST with all of your systems since I'm also preparing for solo certification.
