(But really go to her Twitter, she lives there not on FA https://twitter.com/tenderfern)
This was the result of Fern and I doing a bit of a brainstorm for the theme. It pretty quickly turned into a sleepy theme with drapey clothing, and then more ideas kept popping up until we got to bedtime stories for some plushy friends next to a nice window nook!
This scene is SO cozy ;_; I love bedtime, plushies, storytime, AND nighttime themes. This incorporates them all into the perfect package :D I let Fern pick out all the friends featured here, though there are a couple inspired by past conversations and commissions, there's one little yellow dino that's my favorite plushy that I personally own that I had to get added into the image :D A certain little puppy with a big hairdo here is also the childhood plushy of choice that Fern decided to add, I'm honored to have it gracing an image of mine ♥
I don't have any images of this dino, the lengths I went to crudely drawing and tracing this thing to get an accurate result was pretty silly, but Fern did it expertly with very minimal revisions :D Thank you again for putting up with my shenanigans and understanding that these friends are important! ...I don't have a reliable camera okay >.>
Either way, Penelope takes very good care of her stuffed friends, making sure they're all enriched with stories before bed on a regular basis!
The scenery is SO cozy here! I really love the lighting! Best thing about dark scenes is the ability to have string/fairy lights and nightlights :D The nightlight was a very early add into the scene, I just LOVE soft glow in low light situations! Now that I think of it, Penelope would probably have a hard time reading without something bright shining down onto the book, it looks like she's positioned perfectly to benefit from that light it's providing :D
The outside scenery is something I really love here too. Seeing the shadows of outside objects combined with the starry night sky is just the coziest thing to see from a cozy spot indoors! Windows like this are so amazing! I wish I had a little nook like this when I was growing up, I would have spent so much time in it!
The way the signature is done in this image is SO COOL! She signed her handle onto the spine of one of the books at the bottom, "Tomhoshino 2022"! I was surprised to see it when I first noticed it and thought it was real clever working it into the image itself :D
