Thought I left
out on the equilibrium of drawing things for each other, so here's a bit to help it. There is also the matter of my gratitude for her being a nice and engaging correspondent.
Based on a the probably dated reference, so my apologies for inconsistencies and a general shoddy quality.
Maybe now I'll feel vindicated enough to finally make good on my warning to leave this account well enough alone.

The only thing on that picture that I'm not entirely dissatisfied with are those two pine trees, although the credit for the half-way decent inking of them goes to sheer luck, seeing as my liner alternatively insists on being hair-thin and crayon-thick, and my ability to predict this behavior is largely non-existent. On your kind compliments about colour have to confess to much wrongdoing because I still cling to the criminal tendency of using watercolours with no intent of innervating them with any amount of moisture afterward, along with trying to superimpose the watercolour layer onto the regular pencil shading, which in regard to artistic craftsmanship is akin to hammering nails with a guitar.
You kind words are still very much appreciated and cherished !

Thank you, not in the lesser degree simply for making an appearance ! Time from time, I have visited your accounts, and gained a relief of finding some traces of activity - I really hope you are alright, wherever you may roam, at war or in peace.
You can assuredly count yourself among those few remarkable individuals that I had become involved with, who made my presence here for such a nice and welcome stay, both in artistic interactions and engaging amiable dialogue. Now that you have revealed yourself, I feel that I'm leaving you out of this short sequence of goodbye drawings, and I don't know if that iridescent stormy thing that I've drawn way back is any consolation in case I decide to go through with my momentum and make this submission my last for some time.
As for coming back, it wasn't like this account hadn't already been in rueful state of abandonment for a really long time, so it makes little difference. When I return, it will be to this very account, so you don't have to worry about it. The one I'm trying to muster courage to hop on for that while is a side-project of highly dubious subject matter that presents zero interest for anyone not into that stuff.

OMG, this is amazing! 8D Totally not expecting this, but I always do love surprises. :D
Eeeeh, I LOVE it! The amount of "thank you"s I'd put here would probably break this site. XD haha
THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU. <3 <3 <3
(I would've commented a long while back, but I haven't been on FA for a while)

The artistic community had evolved some splendid tendencies and traditions, and the uncalled for presents and their grateful receptions is one of the most favoured in my book. Thank you for lifting my spirits with your cheerful words, and I can perfectly understand how tribulations of the waking world may mercilessly demand one's time and attention, myself having been swept off the FA radar for prodigious amount of time.
May you be well thereafter !

Thank you again!
I really like the imagery of several bodies of water at different levels, like a tiered waterfall system, and really large characters interacting with toytown-scale objects can be very exciting as well.
That was one of the pictures drawn around the time when I'd just started using ink, and so I would ink every single contour.
It's funny to look back at this undisciplined, chaotic mess, but it's also very sad.

If by contoured you mean weighted lines, that is a legit technique still used today in most comic books. I would much rather see these kinds of lines than the drab thin wafer-like lines in manga and manhua. It just makes it look more flat when all lines are thin. And some artists like that flatness, but the only time you see me using thin lines is when I have zero time to ink and never bothered to.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge of the techniques used by the creators of different genres, and for making me feel better about myself!
However, without intending to belittle your ability to assess the capability of other artists, I must insist that very little of what can be found appealing about this picture was an outcome of sure-handed application of deliberately chosen artistic methods, rather than luck.
I have had a lot of time to look into my drawing abilities, and I assure you it's not me being humble, self-deprecating or sympathy-seeking when I say that I've always been very dirty, lazy, and inordinately prideful kind of artist. People who make it as visual creators have the patience and focus to do regular exercises, study art theory, geometry, anatomy, collect references, break down the styles of their influences, dig deep into the capabilities of the digital processor program of their choice, network with other artists, keep up with the style trends and the latest pop culture phenomena, and above else -- don't expect to be acknowledged and praised by the public beyond what could be reasonably expected.
You could say it's not their fault, that fame is fickle, life is hard, that select talents do rise up to the top occasionally, and that it's unfair to be so judgmental, anyway, but the amateur artists who've remained at the same paltry skill level through decades, never enjoying financial success or popularity, litter the bottom of sites like this. I'm happy for those of them who manage to retain a joyful disposition, and just hang around with friends at a leisurely pace, staying fully content with their situation, but there are plenty of those who have been painfully resentful of it all the way.
I too tend to encourage other artists to trust in their skill and their style when they get overcome by self-doubt, but I never know if I'm doing more harm than good, as sometimes a craftsperson really needs a new perspective, and to shrug off some of the bad habits in order to advance and become their better, happier self further down the line.
Thank you, all the same!
