So by now some of you know I managed to snag a gym session with
schreddedwolf,
maximus-ursus and
zakrhyno. I've gone to a few group gym sessions, usually with
invisiblewolf, but generally I'm alone. This was, naturally, quite educational. In addition to Schred being the biggest guy I've ever gone with and getting some tips (and some advice I that made me cry, like the evils of carbs), it seems like a lot of what I need was just some confidence. I did a lot better there than I thought. Was a ton of fun, actually.
As part of the deal for going, I drew this up. I wasn't quite sure whether to do a group shot or what, so I just drew separate images that I thought I could combined. The pics all look better individually than smooshed together (one problem with the tablet is the screen scaling factor makes it harder to do group shots), esp with the perspective involved. Plus I am not used to super muscle size so exaggerating Schred was difficult.
But hey...just like lifting weights, all I need is practice, right?

hahahaha, well I guess I was unlucky (or lucky, depending on how you look at it) enough to attend a gym without that many beef... there were a few but nothing out of the ordinary... so they never distracted me... also being busy with the weights might help...
...I wonder what would happen if one of those guys that attend your gym asks you for some help and has a southern accent...

Hurhurhur, yes. The truth behind carbs is sad but true. But what matters is you had fun. ^^
And from the looks of this, (And from how I saw ya on that day after that work out), ya did. <=)
Hurhurhur, d'aw. It's good to see ya assisting them. ^^ As well as I can see all 4 of ya making those expressions. Seeing as those are the usual gym workout expressions.

Confidence is definitely the key to making progress with weightlifting. Hesitating and thinking you're going to fail are the biggest obstacles to progress.
Carbs can be evil when you're cutting, but they're also necessary when bulking. The key is getting the right ratio of carbs, protein, and fats for you and your goal.
One of these days, I'll have to kick your butt at the gym. I'll even promise not to put you through one of my leg days.

I'll have to keep that in mind.
I never realized how essential fats were too. Schred however is pretty much of the mindset of no (excess) carbs. He was chowing down on eggs and chicken the whole time I saw him. While I couldn't have survived without the energy par.
Oh izzat so??? Bring it XD

Great group shot!!! I'm glad you had the rare opportunity to train with others that share your passion. I'm still trying to restabilize myself, so I'm doing things alone for now. I hope that you're able to use this experience to push yourself even higher with these MFF sessions. :3
Shred and the other guys look great, huge but still everything's in proportion! I love your expression: "There's NO way I can really spot this much weight, so I'll just stand back here and pretend I can and get a REALLY GOOD CLOSE-UP LOOK AT THOSE ABS CRUNCHED INTO BRICKS pant pant pant" Just kidding! Actually, the photo you posted of you guys in the gym was very cute!
I have to wonder too, based on you saying that you'd never gotten to see or be close to big buff guys much in high school or at college, how you managed not to drool over them all. I know I would have. ;)
Awesome to get advice from the pros indeed. And if Shred really did help boost your confidence, that means you may get even more results in future. (Though as I said, you already have been, silly fox.)

VERY nice job! I love the expressions Schredd and Zak have as they feel the heavy weights in their paws and I'm LOLing about you and me! I would love the see the larger version you did of all of us before you combined them into the one drawing, especially since I look like I'm trying hard to focus on my lift, but staring up at your pecs and you are doing a great job spotting me, but giving me that look like 'if you don't stop staring up at me and pound through this set, I'm gonna let you get stuck under that bar on the last rep'. And you even gave us the bench Schredd likes the most - the ones without the safety posts that get in the way during flat-bench presses!
A really great drawing of a fun time spent with excellent friends. Thanks fox - you're the best *big bear hugs*

I have the larger res at home, I'll try and get it to you the next couple days (having some computer probs at home).
Oh pleh. There's a reason I drew me with a shirt on XD
Yeah, that's specifically why I chose that bench XD I was debating who to put where, but I figure it made the most sense to stick me with you.
:::Hugs::: Yer welcome, thank YOU for the opportunity to go :-D

STICK you with me?! I didn't hear you complaining about it while we were spotting each other on benching
I do find it rather humorous that in the drawing you get to wear the black tank you actually wore to the gym, but decided the rest of us were going to show off and go shirtless. Wishful thinking by the fox, hmmm?
You are just lucky you didn't draw any of us doing a "core" routine - Schredd would have gone all feral on ya!

I do believe you can tell your tablet to force to the proportions of your screen- so that if you draw a perfect circle on the tablet, it remains a perfect circle on screen, rather than becoming oblong one way or another... that is, if that's actually what the problem you're describing is ._.
