Much better than live things on a stick, but that's a matter of opinion.
Yes, but it's non-canon, and always has been...except for the bits we want to make canon (like the gag about Kathy working on a Wonkamatic steam engine which subsequently blew up.)
In the Diary, Fred spends some time waiting for Kathy to get off work in a Cross-Time Cafe in New Yak, but I do not include any sort of extradimensional stuff, and I also dial back the time travel aspect--which I had originally included as a joke to explain how Fred could empty Kathy's apartment in two hours.
But that was a Fred from two weeks in the future, in the comic strip.

Tons of reasons to feel sick my man. You're basically committed to an arranged marriage with someone who you don't know, whose entire family is a bunch of lunatics, heads will roll if you don't go through with it, you've almost died several times recently, you've been expected to throw your safety to the wind to protect key figures in government, no one properly appreciates the sacrifices you've made, and almost everyone in this story is just acting like the horrific way this culture treats its males as totally normal and acceptable.
It sounds like an awful position to be in. If it were me I would probably take as much money as I possibly could and flee to.... somewhere that isn't here.
