Here we see the Entity in a more or less harmonic symbiosis with (the new) Guard. As it stands, for now, his consciousness remains within the weapon instead of the ship or a robot. Since it is Mirage's protector and companion, it should always stay close. And what can be more close than a weapon to carry, if it isn't the ship they fly.
The weapon is taking over Mirage's emotions by infusing chemicals directly into their blood, making them much more violent and aggressive than they would usually be. This is essential in dangerous situations like these, especially because Mirage is oftentimes rather hesitant during conflict. On the other hand, when Mirage is in control of the vessel of Guard (the ship), Guard feels soothed instead of aggressive. Depending on who has the upper hand, outcomes can be rather unexpected.
Despite their vast differences, symbiosis causes harmony between the two. And depending on how much the symbiosis processes, each feels the other more - and through one another.

And why does Mirage wear a space suit? Well, because it looks badass.
But also because TAU finds it safer for the entity to traverse different worlds as well as space with a suit on, even if they do not necessarily need it. He would stick them into a suit even if they try to hide in a box.
