This design represents a 1970's-style approach toward designing a large, high-speed attacker (if it had greater range and payload, it would be considered a Striker). The A7A2 Ogre is primarily intended to be used for Attack and CAS missions, and boasts a rugged, no-frills layout designed to provide maximum survivability and low maintnance.
Like it's namesake, the A7A2 is ugly, sturdy, and very brutal.
Though it's very similar to the Panavia Tornado and Nanchang JH-7/FBC-1, my main inpiration was actually the Italo-Brazilian AMX.

Only in the Iran-Iraq war. Sadaam's generals (who got to be generals only because he "liked" them) couldn't plan airstrikes or CAS even if thier lives depended on it (which they did). Of course, the only "experience" their pilots had was in either slap-fighting thier equally incompetant Iranian foes, or massacreing thier own people.
Not that thier Frogfoots weren't all scattered too thinly and/or bkoen down anyway.
