The Alebrijes once lived among mankind and were long believed to be bringers of joy and prosperity to the Brilholarian people. But one day, a very egotistical and greedy leader was elected into the government of Brilholar. The leader's policies were especially hostile to the Alebrijes, for he viewed them as demons bringing immorality and debauchery into the world. Many of the Alebrije clans were driven out of their territories and the vacant land was used for industrial development. Seeing how hostile mankind had become to their once-revered beings, the Alebrijes retreated underground into the depths of the land.
The years went by and the Brilholarian government had successfully eroded the freedoms of its citizens. Whenever dissent raised its voice, it was swiftly silenced. Some Alebrije clans stayed aboveground and helped citizens opposed to the government escape the country to a safer place, sacrificing themselves in the process.
But, as titanium-fisted as it was, the reign of misery was too miserable to last. The government had silenced almost all of its dissidents who refused to leave the country, but with less people to keep the heart of Brilholar's economy beating, the country eventually collapsed along with its tyrannical government.
Thousands of years went by, and Alebrije culture was thriving in its new subterranean home and illuminating the deep dark depths with its colorful ways. The clans used technology to keep in touch with each other. But having never once ventured to the surface, they were unaware of what became of their oppressers.
That was until there came the arrival of an adventurous black vixen with red hair and red eyes, who brought the news to Luchesi's clan, Espetra.
And now, Luchesi, having lived underground since birth, finally beholds the lifegiving light of the sun, and the splendorous realm it illuminated.
It was beautiful....
