Way back when, during Gencon 2018 I got handed a card from the owner of Hitpoint Press, the company putting together Humblewood; an adorable and fantastical D&D campaign setting where you play as birdfolk and other woodland creatures.
I had been seeing amazing art coming out of this project from artists I admired left and right that year and was very interested in getting involved. I reached out directly with my interest and got a yes! Although I got on the train late compared to the bulk of the art for the project, I am super happy that I got to play some small part in it by painting this depiction of The Alderheart - the central giant tree city for the birdfolk in Humblewood.
There's a little behind the scenes post with some process work over on my Patreon for this piece if anyone is interested. Since its a WIP it is behind a sub, but you can also follow me (for free) on your Patreon account to see other updates I post there free of charge, which is where I have been the most active over recent years, while still not devoid of my spouts of going MIA. https://www.patreon.com/posts/alderheart-55094617
A note about my Patreon: I am working towards bringing back consistency, along with other perks and features I temporarily nixed on my Patreon while trying to get myself together, but I'm still struggling to catch up with everything else in work and life, so only feed the dragon at your own risk if you so choose. The generosity and patience of my longtime supporters has been shocking to me and I am so grateful to have people like them in my life and circle for as long as they choose to remain. Wish I had a better sales pitch to give, but honesty is more important to me.

Aarakocra is a very underrated race but quite honest and nice folk they are in general
Even the place they live in shows how much they value life and light as the servants of the light domain and worshippers of neutral good deities.
Also the landscape is astounding for creating somewhat light and even wholesome atmosphere
Wonderful art!
