If I remember correctly I think it was BrandO that wanted to crank shit out without glossing everything, quantity over quality and Duane didn't exactly see it that way and they decided to go do their own thing. It was either that or the people are reversed but it basically boils down to one wanted to do more while the other wanted to do better. They have their own separate projects in similar things now though so they're not gone for good.
