Once in a while, the guys and I all play the same piece transcribed for different instruments each time! This is supposed to be more for 'study' than pleasure because you're hearing the same piece four times over, just interpreted differently and on different instruments.
Today it's the gavotte in rondo from the third partita for solo violin by Bach.
First, the semi-new way to play it, by
robertrenard, using a modern violin with a German bow.
Then you have me playing it on the lute
Third,
verathevix on a baroque violin (pardon the sound quality here! I'll try to get it sorted )
Finally,
janthejaguar playing it on the cello.

It's probably been used in a few films here and there! And it's a fairly popular piece to be played in general (violin recitals and all that!)
Yeah, in some pieces it's actually extremely different (I might have to do another of these). This one could be done on a piano... and normal guitar... but then I'd be stealing the how. =P

And I can now solidly say that my ears are unable to denote the difference between a regular violin and a baroque violin. XD Shameful...
Great performances tho, as always. I don't actually usually like Bach, but I found each of these quite enjoyable...

Yes, the birds are cool! And no, that's the trouble with living in a house with a big garden and having a semi-broken microphone that has to be placed far away from the instruments... That's why you also hear explosions here and there. =P

Hehe, yeah, I don't think that is too uncommon! I only feel bad, because I usually dominate the show, since I can play this on both the guitar and piano... and for many 'challenge pieces' I can play three piano versions and variations on the theme... and everybody hates me for it... =P
