Alcedo atthis, also known as Kingfisher.

This was another piece of digital painting practice. It took about 3 or 4 days to paint. Perhaps the head was the most tricky spot because of all these little spots on it. The feathers too, but they at least didn't swallow that much time. Those that cover the wing didn't come out entirely realistic, but I like the way it turned out as a whole. It's kinda nice, I think.

Done in Ps CS4, 1200x900.
