The Grass Wyrm is a member of a very rare, almost extinct Genus of dragons. It, as well as its kin, have no native populations on any of the continents. The Wyrms survive only on secluded islands, far away from the habitats of True Dragons, Drakes, and Wyverns, although some also may be found in the sea that surrounds the aforementioned islands.

The Grass Wyrm inhabits a few islands in the northern part of the Herpespina Archipelago, north of Vogelheim. There is slithers through the grasslands and lower parts of the forest undergrowth as it searches for prey. The green, flattened quills on its back provide additional camouflage while it hunts.
In order to take down its prey and fight off enemies, the Grass Wyrm relies on its very potent, slightly acidic, poison-breath. The breath weapon has a range of up to 10 meters (33 feet) and can cause severe chemical burns on any bit of flesh that is exposed to it. Once the poison has incapacitated its victim, the wyrm proceeds to coil around it and deliver a finishing blow in the form of a bite to the neck, which effectively tears open the prey's throat. After the initial pain of the poison, the death that follows is brutal but swift.
