I love this sketch. It has a story.
First of all, this is one of my oldest characters and, which is more important, one of those I love the most. He's a blue dragon with some considerable magical powers, but right here he is practicing one my own favourite occupations: staying awake till the little hours writing stories....
Apart from fantasy, this drawing came from a very old sketch, one that I did probably a couple of years ago. One of my best friends and I were on some sort of botanic lecture, quite untypical he was taking notes and I wasn't, but we were both equally bored. So I took out a sheet of paper and started a dragon (as usually), referring to him for the posture. My view point was different, and I had to alter some things a little to transform a human figure into a draconic one, so it was about as much drawing by fantasy as it was from life. But he still recognized himself at the first glance.... well, mentioning that his face looks different :D
Few weeks ago I dug the sketch out of somewhere and decided to finish it, since I liked it so much. And it turned into something I now like even more. I hope you like it too.
It was quite much a speedy drawing, done with 2B - 8B on A4.
I also drew the ring and amulet from life, and they are intentionally lacking details.
