Leaves rustled in the wind. Distant glowing provided dim lighting. Smaller critters scurried along, hoping they wouldn't be seen. An occasional thumping broke the ambience as the full moon displayed itself above.
An Eevee walked through the area. This was far from the first time he had passed through here. There really wasn't much here that he hadn't seen. He whistled to himself. His home wasn't too far away, and- His thoughts were cut short when spotted a pair of glowing red eyes in the corner of his view.
The eyes grew brighter, more aggressive. Eevee stopped in his tracks. They stared at each other. Eevee let out a deep breath. Of course, his calm, cool demeanor was really just a veil to hide the fact that he was completely bricking it. They stared for what felt like ages. Just before Eevee's masquerade gave way, the eyes vanished. Eevee let out a sigh and carried on.
"ACK-"
Eevee nearly lost his footing as searing pain filled his leg. Stopping, he contorted himself to get a look. Bite marks. Large ones that broke the skin. He wasn't bleeding, but he had to get out of here. He sprinted all the way home, ignoring footsteps that were not his.
Slamming and locking the door behind him, Eevee had to keep himself from screaming. He loomed out the windows. Whatever that was, it hadn't followed him. Looking at his thigh, the bite marks were gone. Maybe it was all in his head. He went to take a shower. That would ease his mind.
Eevee dried himself off. The shower helped a lot. Walking by the mirror, his reflection seemed lighter in colour. He was probably just paranoid. Lying in bed, he closed his eyes. It was getting late anyway.
Knocking could be heard. It was loud. Loud enough that Eevee couldn't sleep. Getting out of bed, he could see his fur had turned completely white. He knew that's probably not how being frightened works outside of cartoons. Heading towards the source of the knocking, he felt... bloated. Tracking the knocking to a window, he opened the curtains and peeked. Nothing, yet he felt someone watching him. Closing the curtains, he felt the bloatedness worsen as something dripped down his legs. Instinctively, he looked down.
It was pink. It was squishy. He had grown a set of udders. They were leaking milk. That needed cleaning. As he went to get a towel, every footstep had a blunt edge to it. His paws, front and back, had been replaced by hooves. Cleaning the floor, he wrapped himself in the towel to prevent further spillage. He lay down and tried again to sleep.
The knocking returned. This time from the door. Eevee really didn't want to answer. Ignoring the knocking, it only grew louder and more aggressive. It wasn't stopping anytime soon. Standing up again, Eevee noticed black patches over his fur, replacing what used to be light beige. He couldn't see it, but his now-pink nose had sunken in and shifted, giving his cow-like form a more complete look. Letting out a defeated sigh, he opened the door.
Just a Miltank. She was holding something. A wallet. Handing it to him, she waved goodbye before walking off without a word. Opening it, he checked its contents. It definitely wasn't his. Seems that Miltank mistook him for someone else. Slightly confused, but mostly relieved, Eevee headed to get a drink before hitting the bed. The urge to drink his own milk was... concerning, to say the least.
"If this means I'm female now I swear..."
