Here we can see their eyes in more detail. A natural locator device which allows the two to stay in contact no matter what happens and however they may become seperated. They are immortal to a point. If their bodies are destroyed in such a violent manner then it is possible that they may remain deceased if this happens. It is more likely though that nothing in any dimension the two travel has the power to kill them for good.

Ai and Ei both believe they are the last of their species. Memory can be a problem for immortal beings and as such they have long forgotten how they came to be or what they could even call themselves. Simply adopting new names and moving on. There was so much fun provided by the Universe to spend thinking about who or what they were.
