I realize I never took a photo of this! My personal little glass, and my first attempt at cream-based etching. I made this sometime last year before the holidays as a trial, and made a few original beer steins as gifts shortly after. I'm in the process of finishing a few more holiday gifts for this year.
Photo isn't the greatest quality, but on the flip side the etching shows through more powerful than it does in person. The downside to craft quality cream based acid is it only etches so deep, unlike sand blasting which can go several layers deep. But I'm still new, so for now it works, and despite being lightly etched it still is permanent and will not wash off.
I actually have a blast doing this, and I make one-time use stencils for personal designs so each so far is 100% original. I've been playing around with finding a material so I can make a re-usable design, but for now one of a kind works!
And don't worry, the delicious cheap wine featured will not go to waste. Cheers!
