This riddle sounds like something possibly related to how german words sound alike and allude to another similar-sounding word. Or maybe even ties in to current or past history where carts and carriages were around, or were just barely being transitioned from.

As said, this riddle mostly makes sense for german speaking people.
Other people might be a little lost with it.

I knoowwww, but that is what I am wondering. Because Japanese people do "puns" based on how similar their words sound from what I barely know. We do puns in english as more of a punchline in addition to their context and similar-sounding (or "Homophonic") nature.

So this riddle sounds like its one of those situations! Where one or a few words maybe alluding to another similar-sounding word in German. Is that about right? .v.

In this case both german words are written exactly the same, yet they mean different things.

If you let Google translate any random word from english into german, you will see that there are often more then one possible words to be chosen.

I've noticed that occasionally in Japanese as well, where there's multiple words for one particular thing!

Though my first instance was both personal and different:
The word "Emerald" has two words in Japanese!
"Hekishyoku" is the color in specific!
"Ryokugyoku" is the jewel in specific!
I doubt either are written the same, but they are different words that are used to separate the context whereas I'd say in English if I wanted to be specific is "Emerald Color" and "Emerald".

That aside, I knew that this had to be wordplay based on homophonic or written nature! Its quite neat to learn that other languages and cultures don't do puns or riddles quite the same! With this difference being that of both language and what part of the mind deciphers the riddle!

Nicht schlecht und in gewissem Sinne stimmt es auch.
Allerdings war damals mit dem selben Wort, das des Rätsels Lösung ist, auch ein Unwissender gemeint.

As a chimera, fearsome and perhaps frightening in appearance at first glance though also majestic and with nothing to fear if you are respectful. As there are many different aspects to Eternal across many worlds and dimensions, I imagine there are perhaps three aspects of Eternal with each having a differing personality, perspective and values but that they'd coexist with one another in harmony.

Posing a riddle to you when you meet him, should you fail to answer then you go on your way in ignorance but show you have wit and wisdom, and he will reward you. You may perhaps ask three questions of your own to him or receive advise from three different perspectives or perhaps he will reveal three pieces of obscure or forgotten lore to you. Though if it isn't knowledge or wisdom that you seek, for answering his riddle he will in this circumstance allow for himself to be petted.
