If there's one thing people would know about me from browsing my uploads, it's that I'm a ringtail fanatic to the point of denouncing the lemur, raccoon, possum, and cat breed. So when I saw a book about a ringtail's life, you bet I was going to ask someone to buy it for me if I didn't buy it myself. It was first printed in September 1935, so happy 87th to this realistic fiction novel.

It's a fairly rare book these days (yet fairly common in comparison to the author's later works), but hopefully fellow ringtail fans can find a copy of their own floating out there. I think it's still under copyright, but I'm not sure because the dust cover that would have doubtless provided information on the author and her illustrator is absent on this copy. Still a nice photo on the hardcover, though, and it turns out it is the first book ina series that predates the "Diary of a..." genre by about a good 70 years. (Did I mention it was the first one? )
