more then happily welcome *bows* as always your a fantastic artist... though i am curious on one thing.. the girl in the middle *points to the grey one* is she the 'dog' of the zodiac? when i first looked at her for some reason i thought a fox... but now i'm thinking a husky o.O
When I first came up with this story as a Role Playing Game for my friends I let all of them pick which animal they wanted to be. They picked Rabbit, Dragon, Monkey, and Rooster. The rest were basically mine to play around with and create stories with.
Tiger is also my Zodiac sign and I've always liked villains so I decided to make him the "big bad" of the story. But as Pinkuh pointed out it isn't as simple as good vs evil in this story. Everyone has their reaons for behaving how they do.

It could be based on their large size and the stereotype of the aloof, condescending feline attitude. Hard to tell.
At the same time, though, there have been a number of good tiger characters over the years. In fact one of the heroes in another story I'm writing, "Tommy" is a tiger. I also have a tiger as one of my main protagonists in my novella "Collared."
Perhaps, one day, you'll get to see the entirety of Koji's story as well.

So wait...is this part of something bigger then a set of posters or just two awesome posters with incredible stand-alone art?
Also...is this going to print somewhere? If someone were to print these out in large, wall style posters on glossy paper, they'd probably sell incredibly well.

As Pinkuh mentioned it is important to the story of the character. Because of his poor eyesight Toshi (Horse) made a mistake when constructing a building that led to the death of several families. Ashamed, he went into exile and while traveling discovered a way to fix his vision. Bad eyesight is one of the worst things that can happen to a horse so that served as motivation for the character.

This is truly amazing work, I've loved getting to see it all come together over these many months. What I love about this picture is how you still manage to give each of the characters tons of personality. They're not in quite the actiony poses like the first time but instead it is their clothing and expressions that tell the story.

Well if you ever need help I'm always up for helping out a fellow writer take up a project and trying to help get things down. I personally find RPing a story to be a nice way of getting ideas to write on myself, or just talking about things to get an idea on what to have happen and what would work and what wouldn't. Good luck with it though, hope you someday get it down.
They could be members of a circus troupe, martial-arts entertainers, street performers. Or a gang of criminals posing as performers! Beautifully drawn and colored! I think the boar is my favorite, if I had to pick one. He seems tough and capable in a fight (and very hot in just a fundoshi), but still having an easy-going, good-natured personality. FUNNESS!!!
They do seem to offer many possibilities on their identities, don't they? In the story I've created each one of them is a lost student of a great teacher of martial arts. It is the goal of Rooster, Monkey, Dragon and Rabbit from the first drawing to find and reunite them so that they can save the world from a terrible threat. :3
I'm glad to see a number of people are fans of Boar. His design is easily the simplest of the group and yet still brings a lot of personality on his own merit. ^_^
