I mean...they could just take small bites of it over time so their bodies can actually process it - chocolate's also dangerous to humans for the same reason - the Theobromine alkaloid, but humans can tolerate and digest it in much larger doses.
Though, given they're apparently roughly the same height and weight as the average human, they should be able to handle similar doses already since their digestive tracts have more to work with.
