I was intending to stick on dialogue for lore tidbits and mindset here, but after having spent a while on this image I kind of don't want to cover up any of it. So I'll put it here instead.

This is Kagé before any modding of his appearance. Still in the utopian civilisation of his species, Arbiters, entirely made up of technologically advanced generic looking white furred felines. I would say post scarcity but they were created by gods as perfect maintenance men for the universe so that the gods wouldn't have to, they've never known scarcity.

The problem was that the Arbiters were so good at it that they made the universe boring. After a while of that the ones higher up than even the gods decided it was enough, you can only count the number of atoms in a galaxy so many times. Meanwhile Arbiters loved it, they don't get bored, they weren't made to be able to get bored.

The maintenance species were relieved from their job in the main universe and given duties elsewhere. Another type of being was put in place to help the gods maintain the mortal realms, the gods would actually have to get involved now and with hopefully more exciting results for the observers.

Now untold millennia later in the Arbiters self crafted realm, Kagé is starting to get a bit restless.

"Pristine, perfect, luscious, and everything as it should be. It's been so long since anything really happened here. It's all so.. I don't want to say dull..

I mean, it's great, it's wonderful, it's comfortable and beautiful, but.. I've been coming to sit on this bench for at least 5000 years now and everything looks the same as it did when I first sat at this spot back then.

When was the last time any one of us left this bubble of ours to see what it was like out there? How has the old universe changed? What beautiful worlds and sights have we all missed while sitting on our backsides in luxury?

Ok yeah, it sounds like I really mean it this time.
