Anyways, I've decided to write a Concerto for PVC Marimba, which is an instrument made entirely out of PVC Piping. Right now, I'm only writing for the Soloist, Piano and Percussion. After I'm done, I'll flesh out the Piano and Percussion parts for a full Symphonic Band score.
Finale has sound similar to this, because it supports sounds for the "Boomwhacker" things, which work on the same principles. The length of the piping is calculated to achieve the exact pitch desired, then put together in a keyboard-like format. To get the noise, they're hit with some sort of paddle, usually made of out Wood covered with Felt or Paint Sponge.
And yeah, I plan on building one of these. Gonna be fun.
So far, the Concerto calls for about 2.5 Octaves, spanning from A2 to C5.
Runtime - 1:18
