It's like asking the questions, "Why do furries draw porn?" "Why do some furries like vore?" or "Why do some furries like pictures of herms?". The answer is really we don't know. Everyone has their own peculiar quirk(s). Some had no control over what gave them the interest in the first place like with diapers or someone just might find the fantasy of being in some scenario (macro/micro, rape, whatever) arousing. Just really hard to say to be truthful.
I honestly can't understand what people find so erotic about erect nipples, but hey, it's not my thing, so why should I give two shits? What's actually immature is your unwillingness to accept that not everything in life fits into your little box of preconceived notions on how the world is. Yeah, this is a pretty fucking weird fetish. I don't deny it. At the same time, I've seen plenty that are infinitely stranger. Cock transformation, soul vore, you name it. Diapers isn't the best fetish out there, but it's far from the worst.
On one hand I can understand...I have seen, by way of the art of Jim Groat, that some babyfurs/diaperfurs take things just...too far. The wrong way. They deliberately shit themselves in public for the purposes of attention. These are the kinds of people that disgust the BF/DF community. Far be it from me to judge, but there are some common things that...well...turn the stomach. I've heard of such extremes demonstrated, and Groat's artwork does bring to light what happens when any subculture goes a bit too far.
Many don't want to make a mess or create a health hazard. There are certain emotional and psychological needs met within the community, and when bodily functions come into play...the best of us prefer discretion.
The line between mature and immature is incredibly blurry. If you insist on a rigid code of behaviors, then such a code may drive people to insanity. A reasonable code of conduct exists in society, particularly when there is discretion on one side and acceptance on the other...provided that practices do not lend harm to self or other.
As long as people find solace and comfort with harm to none, who are we to judge?
