I'm not sure what you mean. how can it look better on your Lap than on FA? Has the colors been distorted or something?

well, for one the laptop is over 6 years old and has seen desert and arctic climates (I was a pretty dedicated writer back in the day)
It had crashed back in 2003 and only in the past year I've gotten it up and running again. I'm certain the LCD screen has degraded in some form or fashion as this pic does NOT look the same on the laptop as it does on the home computer's monitor. The image is not actually distorted, but the colors are brighter and not as evenly blended as I originally intended.

Oh, you meant on different monitors. That explains alot. Some screens produce colors better than others, namely flat-screen LCD's

I'm willing to hook up the old 19in CRT monitor to my old Dell just for the comfort of knowing that the color will be where I want it. Granted, the brand new Dell's LCD may drown out my favorite artist's practice pictures greyscales, red pencil, blue pencil... all that looks extremely washed out so I may end up losing some color with this monitor as well?

I don't know about your LCD's, but mine have been very rewarding onthe colors compared to my last CRT.
