Ah, the beach.
Sun, sand, waves, and fun all around.
Such a joyous time where the guilds come together without conflict.
Smiles all around, and a good time for everyone.
Almost...
Horkeu Kamui, the silver wolf of Kamui Koten, was out and about, hiding in a bush.
Not because he was afraid of anything, but rather because he was "keeping watch" over someone who was dear to him.
"Oh Burton..."
The silver wolf was eyeing a blue-haired boy who was having fun with a group of his friends. This boy was named Burton, the Leader of the Summoners Guild, and the one who Kamui had set out to make his chosen hero.
After their encounter a couple months ago, the Silver Wolf knew that Burton was the next Hero of Kamui Koten he would take under his wing.
Normally, Kamui would have taken any opportunity to be with Burton, but 1: he was actually feeling very sick, so he was keeping his distance. He didn't want Burton to get sick off him; nor did he want his guild members to shoo him back to the hotel just yet.
And 2:
"Master!!!!"
As if on commend, a black and beige husky holding two bentos was rushing up to the human that the wolf was watching.
"Garmr got lunch! Nomad was very happy when you ordered, but told Garmr not tell you that, but Garmr so happy that Master make people happy!"
"Aww, he's so sweet, even if he tried to hide it~" Burton replied, then pet Garmr on the head. "And speaking of sweet~ You're the Goodest Boy; thanks for fetching lunch for us, now let's go watch that volleyball match together."
"Yaaaaaayyyyy!" The husky replied and began dancing around Burton. "Master give praise! Lunch with Master! More More More!!! Yay, summer much fun!!"
Kamui's face was seething red as he watched Burton grab Garmr's hand as they walked towards the volleyball game.
Kamui's body was already burning up from his fever, but his jealousy of Garmr was not doing him any favors.
Burton was supposed to be HIS hero.
The silver wolf just couldn't understand why and how Garmr had gotten so close to Burton. Yeah, Kamui spent most of his time in the mountains, but he did his best to be there for the human, and when he was, he basically spoiled the heck out of him.
Or at least tried to.
Burton did like Kamui, but for some reason, he didn't seem to have much interest in him compared to a lot of other people.
Meanwhile, Burton and Garmr basically lose their minds whenever they see each other.
Garmr was raving to the whole guild that morning about the fun time they had together the previous day, as well as the sleepover they had that night.
He needed to know Garmr's secrets! It wasn't fair that he could get so close to Burton like that; that should be him over there with Burton, not Garmr!
"My Hero..." He muttered, the fatigue starting to set in again. "I need to know what you think of me. Please give me a sign; I need to know!"
Suddenly, a heavenly melody played from behind the wolf, causing him to turn around to greet the floating transients holding a banner.
He didn't not appreciate what was written.
"Ah, the love you feel towards our Summoner is rather admirable~" The Ram stated, clutching his heart. "Like many, you truly care for him-"
"Buuuuuuuuuuuut-" The Hyena added. "Sorry bud, but he's not interested in you. Like. At All~ That mutt is his best friend, and his true love is also here at this beach~"
As huffy as he was, that last statement caught Kamui's attention.
Though there didn't seem to be anything romantic between Burton and Garmr, anyone could have assumed that they would be a thing, but there was someone else?
"You there!" The wolf said, pointing at the hyena. "Tell me who this true love is of Burton's! I must prove to Burton that my devotion is greater than theirs!"
"Hehehehe!" Was the hyena's response. "Oh, what boldness and desire you have! It's wonderful to see one's true self shine~ Though I don't think you have it in you to best him. Burton's true love is the strongest, most charming, caring, and sexy guy on this beach. You're just a wolf who likes him; I don't think some mountain-lurker like you has any chance of gaining his favor."
Those statements deeply offended the wolf, and he was about to protest, but was quickly interrupted when he saw the ram point back to Burton.
"Oh, there he comes now."
Kamui was ready to see who this person was, that apparently was his hero's true love, but was caught off guard when he saw the same hyena he was just talking to walk up to Burton and spin him around, obviously taking the human by surprise.
Quickly turning around, the Hyena was gone, and the ram was rolling up the banner they were holding.
Turning around again, Kamui watched as Garmr had taken up a defensive position, but Burton was issuing him to stand down.
Burton didn't seem to be happy, but was blushing as the blue yeen put his arm around the human and pulled him close.
At this point Kamui was ready to melt.
As if Garmr wasn't enough, now this blue ass was proclaiming that he was Burton's true love.
He needed to head back to the hotel before he caught fire.

Yeah, a silly little commission idea I had for a while.
Burton (My Tas/Housamo protagonist: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/45705062/) and Kamui have a strange relationship.
Kamui being Kamui, loves him because obviously he's his chosen hero for Kamui Koten, but that love is not two-way.
Burton doesn't hate Kamui, but doesn't really like him either.
Kamui really rubs him the wrong way, and his constant attempt to smother him is very off-putting, and does his best to avoid him.
(I'm more of a Volkh guy btw~)
Also Burton's love isn't actually Nyarl; just at this point of the story (end of chapter 3) he's the only one Burton is somewhat interested in romantically.
