Season 1 - Chapter 1 – The Mysterious Egg

It was a naturally cold and snowy night up a snowy mountain in the Sinnoh region, which, upon said mountain, housed a small community of Pokémon that lived in caves to protect themselves from the harsh elements.

One fateful night, an Eon couple, Artina the Glaceon and her husband named Merlox the Vaporeon, were rushing towards the Medical Cave with a wrapped-up blanket on Artina’s back. “Nurse Melody! Please, can you help us!?” Artina shouted with panic in her voice. “H-Huh! What seems to be the problem!?” A Blissey looked over and shocked at the two panicking Eeveelutions. Artina laid down as Merlox reached and gentle took the folded-up blanket off her back. “It’s our baby…” Merlox said with sadness. “We don’t know why it’s egg has turned out the way it is.”

“Oh dear, let’s take a look at the little guy.” Melody says as she starts to unwrap the blanket and sees the blue egg with a star and gem embedded into it. “O-Oh myyy! This is definitely strange.” Melody picks up the egg gently and carries it to the back. “Follow me and we’ll do a check-up on the little guy to make sure the little pup is healthy and safe. Maybe even work out what has happened.” Melody reassures the worried young couple. Melody puts the egg on a soft bit of snow as a Chimecho comes out. “Don’t worry, I’ll use my psychic capabilities to safely examine the egg and check on the health of your young.” Chorus says as she turns to the egg and uses Psychic to examine the egg.

Melody walks up to the Eon parents, “By the way, are you two excited for your baby to be a boy or a girl by chance?” Melody asks to distract them from their own anxiety. “W-well, we are hoping for a little boy honestly. We feel we’ll be able to handle a young boy better than a young girl in all honesty.” Artina replies as she then hugs Merlox, the pair looking like they are able to calm down now. “Here, let me get you two a glass of water each as Chorus works her magic.” Melody then gets up and grabs a pair of glasses to fill up for the two.

After a couple of hours where the three Pokemon talked about parenthood, Chorus came out while humming a merry tune. “Aaaaall doooone!” Chorus says with cheer in her voice. “I hope that means we are in for some good news, right?” Melody says a bit concerned with Chorus’ sudden tone. “Of course! But let’s talk in the back with the egg though.” Chorus suggests as she ushers them closer to the egg.

Once everymon had gathered around the egg, Chorus explained her results of the scan. “So, first off, would you like to know the gender of your baby?” “Oh! Yes please!” The parents responded together with excitement. “Okay, well, good news is, your young is a boy and he is completely healthy too.” Chorus says with happiness knowing the pair wanted a baby boy. “Oh, thank Arceus for that.” Artina says with a sigh of relief. “I can’t wait to teach my boy all sorts the world has to offer.” Merlox says to himself happily.

“But here is the interesting news. I think your child has become a regional variant of an Eevee?” Chorus continues while looking confused. “Huh? What do you mean, Chorus?” Merlox asks as he doesn’t understand. “Well, he seems to have become an Ice and Water type Eevee and is blue and yellow in colour while covered in… gems…? It’s strange, really. I’ve never seen anything like it before.” Chorus finishes explaining. “A… regional Eevee???” Melody repeats to herself. “What do you mean, Chorus?” Artina asks, wanting to know more. “Well, it’s like what has happened to some Pokémon when they live in a new climate. Like, for example, Vulpix. In a lot of regions, Vulpix are Fire types but in Alolan and other colder regions they had to adjust and become Ice types and who knows if there’s others that have yet to be discovered.” Chorus responds and takes a breath to clear her throat.

“Huh, but Eevee is supposed to have unstable DNA so it’s strange for the young boy to have changed to a regional variant. When Eevee adapts to their environment they evolve.” Melody says to Chorus. “Yeah, but maybe because he is still in the egg and I’ve never heard of a Pokémon evolving before hatching, maybe that is why he has changed this way.” Chorus finishes up and looks back at the parents. “This is making my head hurt.” Merlox responds as he wipes some sweat from his head. “I’m struggling to follow this too, but the main thing is our baby boy is safe and healthy.”

This here is something I came up with as concept art of Vee's birth egg appearance to go with chapter 1. This was made in Paint so forgive the roughness as I am no artist ^^;
