ROTFL I worked at a zoo several years ago while I was in college and they had a male and female hognose. The male, who was very very small compared to the female, had this huge "I am a big snake don't mess with me" attitude. He would hiss and such whenever you picked him up...though it is just a big funny act. I enjoy hognose snakes and hoping that we don't have any problems with ours when we get it. In truth we had a hatchling a couple of years ago that wouldn't eat and had to return it to the breeder since we didn't want it to starve...even though we didn't get our money back. It was actually pretty depressing to give it back.
Oh yeah I know. I will keep that in mind to try and get a female. Since we are going to a reptile expo it shouldn't be overly hard to get one. As long as they aren't some sort of rare morph or color that throws them into the 300+ dollar range. Especially if it turns out to be a difficult feeder.
