Just as quickly as she felt the impact on her head, Erzebet immediately got herself back to sitting down, rubbing the part of her head that just hit the ground.
Erzebet: Damn. That hurt. But………
It was at this moment, Erzebet took a look at where she was. She had absolutely no clue where she was, or how she got here. Or better yet, who brought her here. Just as she was about to get up to brush herself off, she began to hear noises coming from down the stairway that was across from her. They were the sounds of footsteps, as well as voices. There was more than one individual coming up, and were more likely the ones who brought Erzebet to this location. Not wanting to get caught, Erzebet stayed right where she was, placed her head back to the wall, and closed her eyes, trying to look like she was still asleep under the skill ability inflicted on her from before. She could hear the footsteps get closer and closer, as the voices got louder and louder. It was then the individuals were at really close range to Erzebet; almost a foot away from her to be exact. But as the former Queen stayed still and kept her eyes closed, she was able to listen into the conversation.
???: Good thing you were able to sneak back to Daybreak Town despite the number of Foretellers present at the battlefield, Rocky. Now we can get our plans in motion.
Rocky: Well, it was easy to sneak out thanks to a special someone who is able to have luck on his side. But I didn't expect Royal Fatass here to be looking for me. I even wondered how she snuck out too.
???: If anything, it was under that moron's orders. But were you able to do the "thing" I asked for the night before the War?
Rocky: Our high luck friend was able to. All while being undetected. So you can be assured, Erzebet's name is not in the book anymore. So if she's gone, she's gone.
???: Excellent. I am pleased to hear that. It will be a hard lesson for that Royal bitch to learn not to challenge me.
Rocky: But Enes. Why her?
Enes: She challenged my authority. Back when I had a team of my own. And I wound up crawling to the team she joined after mine fell apart. But after a few months I left after they wouldn't let me be with the strong members. And in the end, I wound up getting that "Special Send-off" afterwards.
Saying this, Enes couldn’t help but touch the mask that covered his mouth. At the same time, his rage only grew.
Enes: It still hurts! Even with this damn thing on! But since she's here. I think she should be killed here and now!
Enes summoned out a Keyblade, ready to strike down Erzebet. But as this was about to happen, the entire structure began to rumble.
Rocky: Enes! Come on! We don't have much time before this place goes back!
Knowing Rocky was right, Enes dismissed their Keyblade.
Enes: You’re right. I may not be able to kill her. But at least it will be fitting to know she will die alone in the end.
With the structure still rumbling, Erzebet could hear Enes and Rocky leave from the door she was near. When the door closed, she quickly got up.
Erzebet: What in the world were they talking about?! And what’s even happening right now?!
Just as she said this, Erzebet looked at a window nearby, but when she did, a very bright light caused her to cover her eyes and move away from it.
Erzebet: Too bright!!!
With the structure still shaking, this led to Erzebet to lose her footing, making her fall to the ground. Not wanting to fall down again, she stayed on the ground. After waiting for a full minute, the shaking stopped, and the bright light she saw faded. With the structure still shaking, this led to Erzebet to lose her footing, making her fall to the ground. Not wanting to fall down again, she stayed on the ground. After waiting for a full minute, the shaking stopped, and the bright light she saw faded. everything went back to being calm and still. This was Erzebet’s que to get back up, knowing she wouldn't fall again.
Erzebet: So, in the end Rocky betrayed us. And they were working with Enes. Never thought I would run into that asshole again. Thought he would've perished in the war that-
Realizing what she was talking about, and remembering about the Keyblade War, Erzebet's eyes widened.
Erzebet: Wait! The war! Then how long have I been out for?!
With not knowing how long she was out for, Erzebet quickly made her way to the door next to her, making it outside. However, when she took her first steps outside, she was greeted to the large vast of ocean that was between where she currently was and the mainland that she could see from the far distance. Seeing the mainland of Daybreak Town that far away, Erzebet knew where was. She was on the small island that everyone went to hang out and party, and the building she just exited from was the lighthouse. When she looked to her right, she saw there was no boat docked near the lighthouse, or anywhere on the small island. Erzebet was completely marooned, with no way out of there.
Erzebet: I'm....I’m completely stuck here. I can't look to see if there's anyone around the town. I’m completely alone……
The feeling of loneliness and despair began to creep towards Erzebet’s emotional state, believing that she was the only one left in the World. This was when the former Queen remembered the conversation that Enes and Rocky had before they left, even if it didn’t make much sense to her. But it did leave only one place left for her to look; the lower levels of the lighthouse.
Erzebet: Well, I have nowhere else to look besides down into the lighthouse. And I might probably find out what those two were doing down there.
With nowhere else to go, Erzebet went back inside the lighthouse, making her way down the flight of stairs. As she made her way down the lower levels of the lighthouse, she questioned what she would find. When she made it to the end of the stairs, the former Queen saw an illuminated room, with the door open. With nowhere to go but forward, Erzebet entered the room, where she saw what Rocky and Enes were doing down here. Taking up the majority of the room, were three gigantic computer monitors, each of them side by side. But down below the monitors, were several keyboards, all of them placed beside one another, with the middle keyboard having one big red button beside it. This made the entire construct one gigantic computer terminal. But what confused Erzebet the most, was seeing numerous wires coming from the back of the computer, and all of them were mysteriously taped to the floor.
Erzebet: What the heck is all of this?
Slowly approaching the computer, Erzebet carefully watched her footing, not wanting to trip over any of the wires taped down. When she reached the computer, she looked at the keyboard, but she couldn't do anything except look at it in uncertainty. Even though she had been away from her castle and people, she was still a Queen from the Medieval times. And the only times she had ever been introduced to a computer and learned what it was and did was by Lego, Rich, and Envy. But even when trying to learn, they could only teach her with a device Lego had with him from his World, which she was told was a "Lap-top".
Erzebet: Please. Please let the teachings Lego, Rich, And Envy gave me pay off for this moment.....
Looking down, Erzebet could see letters and other symbols. She remembered being told it was a “kee-bored” and that it would contain a lot of letters, numbers, and unknown symbols she had never seen before. But as she looked away from the it, she noticed a small device nearby. It was connected to the back by a wire, and it was called a Mouse. Even though she had no idea why it would be named after a diseased rodent, she felt it was better to not question it. Looking at the mouse, Erzebet was doing all she could to remember what it did.
Erzebet: They said to put pressure at the top left of this thing. And to hear a noise…..
Carefully reaching her hand out, Erzebet placed her fingers at the top left corner of the mouse. When she did, she brought it down. That was when she heard a clicking sound come out of it. As this action was performed, the three giant monitors above Erzebet lit up, displaying numerous pictures. Most of the pictures she was seeing were very familiar to her, as she was seeing parts of Daybreak Town she had been to. But when it came to several other images, they were a complete mystery. One image showed the tower of Daybreak Town, but had writing to the side of it, and then another showed numerous lines containing the letters X and O, with the lines connecting them. But what caught Erzebet’s eyes with this image, was what she saw below it. At the bottom of the monitor containing the lines, X, and Os, were a bunch of numbers inside of three squares, with the far left one lit brightly. Above the squares, she could see the words ‘Please select a Destination’ being asked. With all of this being presented to Erzebet, everything for her became clear to what she was seeing, and it was the only thing that had stuck in her mind since she found the room she was standing in; she had no idea what she was reading, or what anything that she saw was supposed to be for.
Erzebet: What the heck am I even looking at?! Were they watching us this whole time?! Our every move?! Just………. what is all of this?!
Not being able to understand what she was seeing, Erzebet could feel her head beginning to hurt, making her apply pressure to the sides of her head. She couldn’t figure out what anything she was seeing meant. But she knew that the computer she had found was related to the conversation she overheard Enes and Rocky talk about before disappearing.
Erzebet: I can’t give up now. This massive thing must have some written notes on what this all is for.
With a plan set, Erzebet was ready to find any clues as to what she was seeing on the computer. But to her misfortune, she wouldn’t get that chance. Just as Erzebet was ready to look around, the entire lighthouse tremored, causing her to almost lose her balance.
Erzebet: What was that?!
With curiosity getting the better of her, Erzebet made her way out of the room, and up the flight of stairs she came from. As she made it to the main floor of the lighthouse, she made her way outside. However, the former Queen didn’t take no more than a few steps, as what she saw in front of her made her eyes widen, and her movements to stop. Just above the mainland of Daybreak Town, high above the sky, a massive sphere hovered over the entire town. The sphere was purple, with the inside of it showing a mix of red and purple. Erzebet could do nothing but watch as buildings from the Town get lifted off of their foundations, being dragged into the gravitational pull the massive sphere was generating, with the buildings and debris beginning to rotate around it. Witnessing what was going on in front of her, panic began to envelop her, making her run back inside the lighthouse. Running as fast as she could, Erzebet rushed down the flights of stairs, not thinking about the risk of tripping and falling. Fortunately for her, the former Queen made it back into the room without falling or tripping once. But when she made it back into the room with the computer, a loud alarm sound was all she could hear. Trying to cover her ears from the loud noise, Erzebet approached the gigantic computer, where she saw the screen that had an image with the tower of Daybreak Town being replaced with a red image that had a large triangle with a symbol inside of it, with the word ‘Warning’ written below. Seeing this on one of the monitors, Erzebet knew something bad was happening. This was only solidified when an automated voice came out of the computer, causing her to be startled.
‘The self-destruct sequence has been activated! Repeat! The self-destruct sequence has been activated! This sequence cannot be aborted! 5 Minutes until End of World!’
Erzebet: Wait a minute! End of the World?!
With this warning being announced, the realization of her current situation hit her like a brick wall. She was stuck on a small island, and the World she had called home for the past three years with Oliver and everyone else she knew was about to be destroyed with her in it. And her only way out is with the computer right in front of her.
Erzebet: I can’t panic now. This thing is my only chance to get out of here. But how?! How do I work this thing?!
Looking at the keyboard, Erzebet looked at all of the letters and buttons. But knowing that her knowledge was completely limited on how to work a computer, she began to feel frustrated. This was when she remembered the screen with the lines, X and O’s on one of the screens, and seeing one of the squares lit brightly. Even though she didn’t know what it was for, she had a good guess that’s what was used for Enes and Rocky to go where they went. And with everything already set for her, she just had to confirm everything for it to activate.
Erzebet Okay. If this is what those two traitors used to get out of here. What do I need to press to make it all go forward.
Thinking back to the teachings Lego, Rich, and Envy gave her, Erzebet started to remember one part that they said was important. To confirm what she wanted to have start up or selected, she would always have to press a button saying ‘enter’. Frantically looking at the keyboard in front of her, she looked from her left to her right.
When she reached the bottom right of the keyboard, there was the enter key she was looking for.
Erzebet: There it is!
Without warning, the lighthouse began to violently shake once again, making Erzebet almost lose her balance.
‘1 Minute until End of World!’
Erzebet: There’s no more time to waste! Here’s goes nothing!
With no time to lose, Erzebet continuously pressed the enter key, not caring what was being displayed on the monitor. This was until the monitor showed the confirmation of the given co-ordinates, and had begun to scan the Worlds that were before the intended destination. But in the end, time was not on the former Queen’s side, as another violent tremor could be felt, with this one being far more severe than the last two. With time running out, Erzebet frantically looked at the keyboard, trying to see if there was way to make the scan go faster. But when she examined the red button beside the middle keyboard, she could see the word ‘teleport’ written below it. With the scan only being partially complete as it reached the location of a random World, Erzebet knew she couldn’t wait any longer, as she slammed her right hand onto the red button.
‘Teleportation initiated!’
With the announcement being said, the lighthouse began to rumble once again, but this was not caused by the calamity that was unfolding outside, this was from the lighthouse being teleported. With the worse now being behind her, Erzebet could do nothing but breathe a sigh of relief. She had done it. She had made it out before the World ended.
Erzebet: I can’t believe I just went through that.
Trying to calm her nerves, Erzebet looked up to the monitor in front of her.
Erzebet: Okay. Once I make it to wherever the marker stopped at, I will try again to go to where Enes and Rocky went, confront them, kill them, and then head home. If I can find it……..
Just as Erzebet said her plan aloud, the computer terminal to her right suddenly made a popping sound, with smoke then coming from the keyboard.
Erzebet: What’s going on?!
Without warning, the computer terminal to Erzebet’s left suddenly exploded, causing the Queen to step back from the computer in fear. But before she could think about running out of the room, the computer terminal in front of her exploded as well, along with the monitor above it. The explosion knocked Erzebet back, and fall to the ground unconscious. But despite the computer exploding, the lighthouse continued to move towards its marked destination. However, it was now a one-way trip to an unknown World, with no way of going back or anywhere else.
