''Abandoned Iron Factory'' drawn by Lay
Another drawing from the Daniël's Office series. Every Friday I visit my coach Daniël Koper to do some fun activities, like walking through the city or talking about things that keep me busy in life. Today I created this drawing. No color, but I think it is clear enough what I was trying to go for -- an abandoned iron factory with overgrown machinery and broken walkways. I always enjoy creating depth in my pictures, and this is a great example, since the hot tank is clearly up front, and the walkway and windows are further in the back of the room. I drew it as if you're looking from behind the hot tank and were gazing up the walkway and the ceiling.
I got the idea of having a ''deserted factory'' setting by looking at one of the level types found in one of my favorite video games, being Donkey Kong Country 3, in which there are a couple dark, dilapidated factories the Kongs have to traverse through, while foreboding rock-style beat music plays in the background! The pictures that inspired me to do this drawing, are these two --
