"Oooookay... my notes seem to indicate that this place is the ideal spot for this spell. Three intersecting lines, a holy forest *and* there's Cherry Blossoms." Na'eema murmured to herself, her arcane and psionic development notebook hovering, following her around like a balloon on a string.
"A little psychic tweak to the local spirits aaaand there we are!" She chirped.
The dimminutive Na'eema, though small in stature, had become an utter powerhouse of magical and psionic potential during her studies and she knew that with a life as long as she'll have, she'd want to have a good mastery of things early.
And this was an important spell she was casting.
She gathered her reagents...
"Rabbit's foot... four leaf clover... goldfish scale... horseshoe... ladybug... penny that always falls face up..." She murmured, assembling it all in a circle and standing in it. She used her telekinesis to etch the runes and began to focus...
"I love you..." She whispered the last part of the spell. And it was a vital part indeed.
Lex DeLaVega knew it was a ridiculous expenditure. But it was only a single zeri.
He took the lottery scratcher, shaking his head. "Hell of a use for my last zeri." He huffed. He didn't even have a zenni coin to scratch the lead coating off, resorting to using his multi-tool.
He'd been between work and scientific grants and he could feel his brain draining from eating nothing but ramen.
"Holy..." He whispered, matching two symbols.
He took a deep breath. "The statistical odds of it being the third one too.... nah..." He turned away, scratching a the spot...
Pineapple, pineapple....... pineapple.
And beneath each, was a marking for 30,000 zeri.
Not life-changing kind of money, but a fortunate windfall!
He cheered, pumping his fists!
Na'eema was picking up the spell items when her cell rang...
"Na-Na, hon, I just won a scatcher! I wanna take you someplace nice for dinner!" Lex's voice exclaimed excitedly over the phone!
Na'eema smiled warmly. "Congratulations, sweetie! Could you come pick me up on the edge of the Sakura Mesa?"

I would very much like a tax free lottery. Could still mess up someone who doesn't know how to handle money, though. =P But I doubt her beau is the type to waste it.
If I ever played and won, I'd probably just pay off my debts and invest the rest. Or at least keep it in the bank and let interest accrue. No sense in buying a bunch of junk when I can put it to work!
