This non-store-bought plush of my OC, Rachel 'Dash' Dashner, was created and photographed* by Fireflytwinkletoes (Firefly). For additional pictures showing this plush in more detail, check out this photo montage, also by Firefly. All + Favs are appreciated.

Ever since I uploaded my magnum opus, the drawing of my original character, Rachel 'Dash' Dashner, I always wanted to see her in 3D - in plush form to be more precise. After searching for the right plush maker for an eternity, I finally found Fireflytwinkletoes who agreed to turn this introverted teen deeragon in pajamas into a plush. Although I placed the order in August 2018 and Firefly started to work on Rachel in November of the same year, various circumstances - mostly caused by my stupid, maximalist nature - prevented the plush from being delivered until July 30 2020. But at last, here she is, in all of her plushed glory. A true masterpiece by and, sadly, the last creation of the one and only Firefly.
Rachel is the largest, heaviest, and most complex item of my plush collection to date:
- She is 27" (approximately 69 cm) tall from the tip of her ears to the bottom of her paws.
- She has a wire skeleton to support her, which also allows her to stand on her own, given that her legs and the tail are positioned in a tripod-like fashion. (Additionally, her feet aren't as squishy as they may seem; they also play a crucial role in keeping Rachel balanced.)
- Despite the wire skeleton, Rachel is posable. Her wings can turn 90° in a horizontal position, the tail can be bent to either an 'S' or 'J' shape, while her arms can be posed in several ways - as you can see here and here. Even her fingers can be moved around a bit! (And before you ask, yes, she can flip the bird. ;P)
- The details on her are absolutely stunning. The ears; the muzzle; the eyes; the eyebrows; the wings; the hair; those cute little paws. Even the upside and underside of her tailfeathers are just like in my original concept art.
- Her pajamas are fully removable. Firefly ingeniously implemented a complex velcro system when it came to the pajama top, whereas the pants are... well, pants.
- And the best thing about Rachel is that she is still hugable. (Although I have to be extra careful with her given her value.)
In short: Firefly nailed everything - and I mean everything. It was worth the money and definitely worth the long wait. This magnificent plush of Rachel has, and forever will have, a special place in my heart for multiple reasons:
- She is my 'daughter', my very own OC, the protagonist of my future YA novel in her glorious 3D form.
- She was in the works for an excruciatingly long time, thus the catharsis of finally seeing and hugging her was indescribable.
- She is the most valuable item in my room and, most likely, in my flat. I'm not joking here.
- She is by far the most complex plush I have ever commissioned. And I highly doubt it'll change in the future.
- She is the very last plush to be completed by Firefly before her retirement and complete disappearance from making plushes.
- She's just beautiful and cute as hell. Period. ^^
So let this deviation be the testament to the eternal genius of Fireflytwinkletoes and the lunacy of a madman who came up with this introverted, teenage deeragon OC obsessed with being constantly in her pajamas.

This picture is an unofficial upload of Fireflytwinkletoes' original photo montage. She never published it anywhere and it's unlikely she'll ever do so. Although I don't own the image, I'm the plush's rightful owner and the photo of her was officially shared with me by Firefly in May 2020. Since it would be a huge loss if I didn't show Firefly's last plush photo, I decided to upload it on my social media profiles, lawfully crediting Firefly as the creator of the plush and this photo. If I'm ever asked to remove or modify this deviation by Firefly, Buzzly's staff or any of you, I'll do that as soon as possible.
