A traveling magician and a magical fox had a very strong rivalry. After being overshadowed by the fox once again during a show, the magician sought revenge.
In the dead of night, the magician snuck into where the fox slept and murdered him, skinning the animal down to his pelt - a trophy of victory.
It wasn't until the magician decided to wear the pelt for an act a few weeks later that they realized they made a grave mistake.
Almost instantly, the cursed pelt began to fuse with their skin, creating a being that was not quite the magician but also not quite the fox.
