Fattytober: The Softening of a Sadistic Heart FULL PROLOG...
A prologue to my Fattytober story, introducing my edgy boyyo!
Featuring ZaktheTiger as my partner!
Zak's a fat green and black liger (They/them)
Wild is a White Wolf (Fox?) and is false 2~22% Flattie Spider (He/Him)
(Spinergy is a type of energy Wild can use which is essentially a combination of physics and a bit of magic. It's a rotational energy that when used, looks like red, blue, and magenta ribbons of translucent light.)

"Oh god, oh no no no no nononononononono! Agh! This can't be happening!"
Zak could hear Wild's cries from their bedroom, so they paused their game momentarily and went to the living room. There, they found Wild in a more distressed state than usual, pacing around the area and ruffling through his hair with his hands. Several objects were floating around him, ranging from soda cans to small furniture.
"Uhh, hun? Wild? What's going o-"
"IT'S ALMOST OCTOBER!"
"Jesus Christ! And, uh, what exactly is it that's so bad about October?"
Wild turned to face Zak, his eyes glowing a bright magenta.
"HE'S COMING AND I CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO STOP IT!"
"Who's coming?"
Wild looked down at the ground. The objects floating around him started spinning, gaining speed at a rapid pace. Spinergy particles started filling the living area, the ribbons of light swirling around the room, picking up objects as they moved around.

Wild could hardly breathe. He could barely process what was happening. How had time passed by so fast? Why did October have to come so soon? When was he going to tell Zak about- He felt himself slowly crumpling to the ground, drained from panicking so much. Then, just as he thought he was about to pass out, he felt someone lifting him, embracing him in a soft warmth and softness. He felt his heartbeat begin to slow, his breathing steadying itself. For a moment, he forgot why he had even panicked in the first place, all thoughts replaced by a warm, fuzzy feeling. He did his best to wrap his arms around as much of Zak as he could, nuzzling his face against Zak's chest.
"Hey, I'm here for you, ok?" Zak whispered. "Whatever's going on, we'll get through this together."
Wild sniffled, "Thanks, I- I really needed to hear that."
Zak smiled, gently rubbing Wild's back with one hand.
"You're always welcome, hun," he said lovingly.
Wild smiled a little wider, squeezing Zak tightly. They stayed like that for a few minutes before Zak spoke again, still in a soft tone. "Now, what exactly is going on?"
"Well," Wild flopped onto the couch, "I'm not entirely sure how to explain this, but... well, let's just say that I've been kind of worried lately..."
Zak nodded, plopping onto the couch which elicited a loud creak while Wild continued.
"So it all started when I oh-so-stupidly made a deal with a demon to give me cool fire powers a really long time ago. Well, after about two years of having this demon's powers, I sorta... uh... betrayed them to free myself of the pact I made with them, which resulted in me being slightly cursed."
Zak could only stare and nod, dumbfounded by the idea of having a cursed boyfriend. Wild sighed, continuing.
"Anyway, the curse involved my soul splitting in two, giving me an alternate form which is essentially my complete opposite. This form follows me around a bunch of the time like some ghost, and he occasionally likes to come out and cause trouble for me. We both have the same idea of what we want, which is freedom, but we both wish to achieve it in different ways. I try to earn mine and others' freedom; he feels like freedom can only come through violence and revolutions."
Wild looked over to Zak for a moment, seemingly waiting for something. It took a moment for Zak to realize he was waiting for questions, so they replied quickly, "Oh no, keep going." They felt a bit skeptical at the thought, but decided to at least try listening to their boyfriend to see what came out of it.
"The most significant part of the curse occurs in October, in which the other form takes complete control of my body for the entire month. That's when I end up having to float around him all the time, and similar to him, I can't interact with any physical objects. People are usually killed by him during that time, and the awful thing is that I can't do anything to stop it."
"Oh, I didn't realize that you had to deal with so much, Wild." Zak was genuinely sympathetic, and Wild couldn't help but feel relieved. "Is there any sort of way to stop it?"
"Well, I've tried seeing if I could disable myself with some sort of injury that would take an entire month to heal, but apparently, no physical injuries or conditions transfer to the other body, not even weight, apparently."
"Wait, weight?" Zak snickered for a moment, Wild slightly amused as well."How would you know that?"
"Well, there was this *one* time where the other form was in control, and he was so hungry that he ate an entire buffet's worth of food in one sitting. Apparently, his metabolism is the complete opposite of mine. It's so slow that he put on around twenty-eight pounds that night!"
"Twenty-Eight? How's that even possible?"
"I don't know. Ever since then, he's been sure to take extra care to avoid eating too much, so I haven't been able to experiment more with his metabolism, unfortunately."
Zak scratched his chin for a moment. "Hmm... That gives me an idea. Uhh, is he here with us right now?"
Wild looked around for a moment before shaking his head. "No. He's not usually here the week before October, though I don't know where he could be."
"Alright then, while the coast is clear, let me tell you a little idea I just had. Maybe we'll be able to get rid of him this year since you've got some help this time..."

September 30, 11:56 p.m
Zak lay in bed, pretending to be asleep. Wild had taken a strong dose of melatonin a while ago, so he wasn't waking up anytime soon. His soft breaths seemed to be almost peaceful, a stark contrast to the usual loudness he possessed. Zak looked at a digital clock across the room. In bright red, it read 11:59 p.m. What was taking so long? Despite the delay, Zak didn't let their guard down for even a moment.
Just a little bit later, the digital clock struck twelve. Immediately, a bright orange flash filled the room, forcing Zak to close their eyes for just a moment. When they could see again moments after, they noticed that Wild had gotten out of bed, looking around the room. The wolf before Zak looked quite similar to Wild, but a few things differed. His hair colors had changed from bright red and blue to dark orange and burgundy, and the hair itself flipped onto the opposite side of Wild's face. His usual colors had dulled, some being replaced by a dark orange or dark magenta. His tail had black tufts of fur on certain spots, and the magenta tip was black as well. Zak couldn't see Wild's chest from here, but they didn't have time to look.
Zak quickly threw the covers off themselves, revealing a few rose petals in their paw. As quickly as possible, they spoke a few words and crushed the petals. A sparkling mist emitted from Zak's paws, circling the Wild-esque figure. He started to turn towards Zak, but fell unconscious to the ground before he could even say a word.
Dusting their paws off, Zak looked down at the unconscious Edgy Wild with a mischievous grin. "Now," they said, "It's time to get to work."
