Taking her first steps on the sandy shore of the island she wound up on, Erzebet still felt the fear of what awaited ahead come over her. But she refused to let that stop her from trying to find anybody who may be living on the island. Trying to trek her way through the jungle, the former Queen had gotten her coat snagged on twigs and branches that were low to the ground. Despite easily getting herself undone and out of them, she felt relieved that she made the right call to not wear her Royal Robe, considering that she was in unfamiliar territory where her outfit would easily be dirtied. But as she continued to walk through the dense jungle, she came across a small clearing, where she spotted what she was looking for. Partially covered in vines, leaves, and fallen branches, Erzebet found a small building made out of bricks and cinderblocks.
Erzebet: Yes! So there are people on this island!
Seeing the small building as a beacon of hope, Erzebet wasted no time approaching the structure, opening the door to let herself inside. As she made her way into the small building, the hopes she had on finding someone quickly began to diminish. What Erzebet found was furniture and documentation filling out the shelves nearby. But from seeing how much everything had deteriorated and was falling apart, showed evidence that nobody had been in this place for a very long time.
Erzebet: No……so there really isn’t anyone here….
Just as Erzebet said this to herself, she suddenly heard movement, and it was coming from the floor that was above her.
Erzebet: Or I could be wrong.
With her sights now set on the second floor, Erzebet approached the flight of stairs nearby. But with how much everything in the building had fallen apart, the former Queen took her time up the rickety stairs. With each step she took, she could hear the amount of stress the wood was under from the creaking that came out from beneath her feet. Step by step, she slowly made her way up, until she finally reached the second floor. Slowly walking around the hall, she only heard silence.
Erzebet: Hello? Anyone here?
After saying this, all Erzebet got was silence. But this did not stop her from proceeding further into the hallway. As she neared the end of the hallway, she soon heard a thump, and it came from the room at the end of the hall.
Erzebet: Is anybody here? I won’t hurt you. I’m trying to just search for help.
Erzebet had no idea if the person didn’t hear her, or needed help in some way, but she didn’t want to wait a second longer if the second scenario was occurring. Reaching the room the noise came from, Erzebet reached for the knob and turned it.
Erzebet: Hey, it’s okay. I’m not here to hurt-
The moment Erzebet looked inside of the room, what she saw made her blood run cold. In the middle of what was once a bedroom, Erzebet saw numerous Shadow Heartless. But the part that was scary for her, was that all of the Shadow Heartless were all fused together, completely joined together creating a glowing light purple core that had them all stuck together. The Heartless was known as the Demon Tide, an amalgamation of numerous Shadow Heartless forcefully being fused together. But just when things couldn’t seem to get worse, the former Queen watched as the shadows around it began to swarm, and cover the Demon Tide completely, leaving nothing but a hovering black sphere. Seconds after this occurred, the black sphere began to falling to the ground as a goopy slime. It was then the slime began to grow, with numerous yellow glowing eyes opening up. The Demon Tide Heartless had transformed into a Heartless slime monster. With all of this chain of events unfolding right in front of Erzebet’s eyes, she was completely speechless. But nevertheless, she could only do nothing except slowly close the door she had just opened, and turn around. The moment the door closed, Erzebet’s mind was screaming at her the one objective she needed to do at that moment in time: RUN!!!!
