Crystal Dragon Kerrovitarr
I've been travelling the last couple weeks, and on my travels I've had a ton of time to read. I got obsessed with a series of 5 books called The Dragon Inside by Russian author Alex Sapegin. Enough so that I read through them three times X3 I've fallen in love with the story of Andy who learned to survive after being transported into a fantasy world and found a new family there. I have some trouble recommending the books because the writing style is somewhat odd (Many times scenes are started and then a flash back happens for 10 pages and then you're dropped in the original scene again and have to figure out how the timeline works again) and I feel like many threads are left to dangle. But I think it's a worthwhile read. It hit basically everything that I love in a TF story. And I really want to share it with people.
As for this picture, I based it heavily on the description of his dragon form but there are many details missing or just too unclear for me to capture. (plus I'm suffering from traveler's sickness so my energy to try is somewhat limited.) So I'm sticking it in scraps because I'm just not feeling it right now but still really want to share.
I feel a little bit like I've struck on something amazing that no one else knows about though, because I've only ever found one other person who even knows what this story is! And that makes me sad because I'd love to see a community form around this story, despite it's flaws. Because I deeply yearn to consume more of the world and the characters, but there's no source material left and no fan material to sate me. X3
If you're interested in the series you can find a translation of the first book for Kindle on Amazon here: (not sponsored :P)

(The first book was somewhat localized to americanify the names and the setting of the Earth side of the story, but it's back to being fully Russian in book 2 and beyond.)

I recognized the name as soon as I saw the title. I've read the first two books, but the writing style is extremely difficult for me to acclimate to, especially the way characters will randomly wax poetic out of nowhere. I'll probably finish the series eventually, but I'll need to force myself to get past the wonky prose.
Also, if you like dragon tf fiction and haven't read them yet, I'd suggest the Scaleshifter series. It's very engaging.
