~Will move to scraps later on [once I draw the three versions)~
Yeah, this is just to show what I doodle in my spare time. And it shows my thoughts on how I should draw main and sub scales.
Tell me which one you like.

I think the third (top-most one?) looks the best. Which makes me think I actually may reference that for how to draw the scales on Thiriel's hands in the future, so long as you don't mind!
Anyway. The first/lowest one looks like it would be best for doing a quilled character rather than something scaled or draconic in nature. It also seems a little too cluttered and may not do so well on allowing the users hands to function well. My pitiful reason for not liking the second one is that it just creeps me out and reminds me of an octopus' tentacle. It may just be due to the smaller, bead-like scales you have along the larger ones on the underside of the thumb. Third seems to be the most functional for gripping items in general, touching, holding, strangling, fighting, etc. And the larger, underlying scales look like they would be good for protecting the fingers.

I don't mind at all. Go right ahead.
And thank you for the feedback. For the second one, I was planning on just having the small, bead-like scales underneath and a thick hide of sorts for the top; having a gradient or one solid color for the top.
>-> I probably should have numbered which is which.
