It ain't necessarily so, Gershwin! Come Purcell, let's leave
By George Gershwin, transcribed for violin and piano
And then... Us singing a duet! From Purcell's 'The Færie-Queen', ~Come, let us leave the town.
Come, let us leave the town;
And in some lonely place,
Where crowds were never known,
Resolve to spend our days.
In pleasant shades upon the grass,
At night our selves we’ll lay;
Our days in harmless sports shall pass;
Thus time shall slide away.
If you listen carefully you can hear me running from the piano to the harpsichord in that short break between the pieces! Vera changes her violin to a custom made one with sympathetic strings (which is more resonant) played with a German bow and then we begin to play and sing!

Violin ~ Claviers ~ Cello (only for the second piece)
The second piece actually foreshadows an event! Creepy, right? In January I will leave civilized life and go into one of my family's country villas for a while! I don't know if it has internet or not, but it's not important in the long run~
I'd also like to give a huge thank-you Swiftcutter for the super awesome drawing he made for us! It's totally terrific: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4895457 (and it fits today's piece quite well! A note: No microphones are actually used to amplify our voices in proper work, only to record in this case!)
And also, in a few hours I'll be leaving for Europe! Yay, Christmas concerts!!! =D
P.S. Aren't I clever with my titles? :3 *shoots self*

Oh yeah, this one's a wild piece! It's about a man doubting the Bible!
It's a very fun song, and if you ever see Porgy and Bess (totally worth it) you'll see that the acting usually has some pretty wild moves!
I love the lyrics, they're very fun:
~
It ain't necessarily so
De things dat yo' liable to read in de Bible
Li'l David was small but oh my
He fought big Goliath who lay down and dieth
Oh Jonah he lived in de whale
For he made his home in dat fish's abdomen
And thank you!!!
