This is the first picture for this year's Vaguely October-themed Art Prompt Challenge Thing, For reals this time, I swear! I just love how this picture turned out compared to the original, but I decided to just scrap that since so many people faved it anyway... In this one, Dabbird gives Cheekers a few dozen donuts as payment for helping them move in some heavy furniture.

Day one: (Prompts used: “Just one bite”, “Temptation”, “Payment”)
“Thanks for helping me move that new sofa in!” Dabbird said, panting, “And technically for moving the old one out, as well.” The Rabbit-Bird-Dog chimeric hybrid collapsed next to their friend, who had already done so. The new sofa was much more comfortable than the one it set out to replace, and in a moment, both critters could spontaneously take a nap right then and there.
“No problem,” Cheekers said, “Moving the old one out was easy, since gravity did most of the work bringing it down the stairs, moving the new one up the stairs (and against the downward pull of gravity) was the hard part.” It was obvious, Cheekers practically had no upper-body strength and was out of shape, and the only reason he was able to get such a large piece of furniture up two flights of stairs was because of relying on his stronger lower body, pure determination, and a high threshold for pain.
“I know it’s not much, but I did get you something for all of your trouble, they’re your favorites!” Dabbird held out a large box, overloaded with two dozen donuts, but not just any donut… they were chocolate iced, chocolate cake donuts with shredded coconut on top. They stopped making these years ago, so you had to special order them at least a business day in advance… “I’ll pay you with actual money when payday rolls around, but I couldn’t help but get my bro a little bit of a treat to tide you over.”
Cheekers glanced and reached for a donut, there were just so many, and they were all for him! Just one bite couldn’t hurt, right? Especially after working up an appetite by overexerting himself like that. One donut wasn’t enough to calm the rat’s stomach, so another was quickly gobbled up, followed by another…
“Don’t spoil your appetite too much,” Dabbird said from across the apartment, “I’m going to order takeout from that one Chinese place tonight! Unless you want Pizza, I’m good with either.”
The gluttonous rat looked down, and he’d already eaten most of the donuts without thinking… Luckily, he always has room for more…
“How about both?” Cheekers joked, “I’m hungry for just about anything and everything you can think of!”
“Anything and everything hm?” Dabbird said coyly, “I hope you brought your appetite!”
