MK9 Nitro Track Concept - ''Forgotten Fair'' by Lay
I'm back with another MK9 concept for a race track! This is Forgotten Fair, which is a race through an abandoned amusement park. It's not the best drawing I made so far, but I'm a bit low on ideas as of late, so that could explain it.
Here's the track description --
🎢 You start in front of a couple old traditional carnival booths, some of which are heavily damaged. A turn to the left and a row of Item Boxes later, you drive underneath an old ferris wheel. I got this idea from a portion of ''Water Park'' in Mario Kart 8, and since I think it is very clever, I believe it should return in another theme park-themed track, like in this concept. After the first set of Item Boxes right before the ferris wheel, on the left rests the giant spinning chair, which used to move the riders sideways while swaying around using two big arms -- you've probably seen one of those rides at a carnival in town. On your right is a ghost house, and since this entire theme park is abandoned, the ghost house which is already looking quite ramshackle, still fits the vibe of this area, though in a different way compared to when the park was still thriving with visitors -- maybe there are some actual ghosts floating around it, like Boos, or the ghosts from ''Luigi's Mansion'', maybe. Across from the ghost house, on the other side of the race track, rests an old merry-go-round sporting creepy-looking horses -- like in an actual merry-go-round, y'know? After passing the ghost house and the merry-go-round, you'll enter a short tunnel remeniscent of a waiting area, those places where people are standing in line and wait for their turn to ride the attractions. However this one was emptied out, and instead is now used as a tunnel portion for the race track. When exiting the tunnel, you'll come across a Swinging Ship and the remains of an iron coaster. Item Boxes could be falling from this remaining coaster part! Now you will have to cross a coaster portion yourself, driving an S-turn on a rusty track above a big marsh with lilypads, and maybe some frogs or bugs jumping and flying around respectively. A final turn will take you back to the finish. There's a mud shortcut you can take to cut the last turn, but you'll have to use a Mushroom to get to this small wooden ramp. This race has five laps.
This drawing could've been a lot better, however the paper and pencils I had to work with, weren't what you'd call optimal. But I did the best I could, and I'm quite happy with the result. There was the option of coloring the page with colored pencils, but I opted not to. I think the drawing is obvious as it is.
